Step 1: Settings

Once you've created your line item, you can still edit most of its settings. Under the Campaigns tab, click on the campaign whose line items you wish to edit, and it will take you to the Line Item dashboard, where you can find the following subtabs:

  • Line Item: You can edit the line item level settings, such as Name, Flight Dates, Budget, Pacing, Bid, or Optimization Strategy, by clicking on the edit icon (pencil) next to each field.

  • Campaign Products - You can manage all products within a campaign through a dedicated tab that consolidates global SKUs across retailer-specific line items. This view allows you to review and adjust each product's association with individual line items and view aggregated performance metrics.

  • Campaign Settings – You can edit all the campaign level settings like Name, Schedule, Budget, Attribution, etc.

To edit a line item, follow the steps below:
  1. Click on the Campaigns tab within the platform.

  2. Find the campaign containing the line item you wish to edit and click on the Campaign Name.

  3. You'll land on your campaign’s Line Items page, where you can see all its line items. You can click on a line item’s name to open the line item, and you can click on the Edit icon to edit fields like the Name, Budget, Line Item Start and End date etc.

  4. If you wish to view the settings of a specific line item and make edits, click on the desired line item. On the left side of the dashboard, you will see the following subpages where you can review the setup and edit them:

    • Products: View all the products that are added to the Line Item. You can select the products to switch them On/OFF, and also Edit Bid or Remove Bid.

    • Placements: View all the placements where the ads in the line item are running.

    • Keywords: View all the active keywords. You can also see the Automatic Keywords - these are the most relevant keywords for the selected products in your line item.

    • Edit: Under the Edit page, you can edit all the settings that you had initially applied while creating the line item.

Line Item Budgets

Line item budgets help control advertising costs for specific products. In Commerce Yield, choose to either set a total budget for the line item or leave the line item uncapped. Edit a line item budget at any time, effective immediately.

  1. On the Campaigns page, click the name of the campaign that contains the desired line item to edit.

  1. On the Line Items page, click the name of the desired line item to edit.

  1. Click the Edit icon in the Remaining Budget column.

  1. If switching from uncapped to capped, select Capped and enter the amount to cap the budget at a set amount. Once the line item reaches the set budget amount, it will stop delivering ads.

If switching from capped to uncapped, select Uncapped to allow the line item to spend freely from the campaign's budget.

If editing your capped line item budget, choose Increase By or Decrease By and enter the amount to add to or remove from the line item's remaining budget. Mark the New Remaining Budget checkbox to make sure the budget corresponds to the desired amount for the line item to be able to spend.

  2. Click Save.

Edit basic line item Settings: Name, retailer, dates

Click the edit icon in the table next to the desired setting to change or select the line item's name to land on Step 1 above. The name and dates can be edited in this step. Alternatively, click Details in the first column to navigate to Step 1 of that line item.

Editing a line item name

After clicking the edit icon next to the line item name in the table or during Step 1 of line item editing, the previously entered line item name will be visible.

To edit the name here, change the name in the field and ensure that it is different from other line items in the campaign. Click Save or Continue before exiting.

Editing a line item retailer

In Step 1 of line item editing, the previously selected retailer is visible. The input field under the retailer box is greyed (disabled). This is because the selected retailer cannot be edited for the line item after launching it.

To select another retailer, we recommend setting up a new line item with the new retailer and product(s).

Editing line item start and end dates

Click the edit icon next to the line item dates in the table, or in Step 1 of the setup workflow. You’ll see the dates under the Schedule box.

To edit the dates, select new dates and save. Today’s date or any date in the future for the start date can be chosen. For the end date, select either “None” or a specific date. Click Continue or Save before exiting.

Note that a change in line item dates can cause a change in its status as well.

Edit Budget, Caps, and Pacing

Editing a line item budget

Click on the edit icon next to the line item budget OR in Step 1 of the line item workflow to edit the budget.

There are two options available for editing the budget:

  • Uncapped budget:

Select Uncapped. The line item will spend freely from the funds available at the campaign level. The available funds are determined by the campaign budget and can be capped or uncapped.

The line item will stop spending once the campaign budget is reached. At this point, The line item status will switch to Budget Hit.

  • Capped budget:
Click Capped and select either Increase by or Decrease by from the dropdown to enter the amount to add or remove from the current remaining budget.
The new remaining budget is visible at the bottom of the Line Item Budget box.
The line item might not spend the entire amount. The amount is used as a cap and the line item will stop spending when it is reached.

Editing a daily pace

Click the edit icon next to the line item daily pace OR in Step 1 of the line item workflow to edit the pacing of budget delivery.

A daily pace can be helpful to ensure the budget lasts for the duration of the line item's schedule.

To edit a daily pace, there are two options:

  • Strict amount:
Click the amount line and enter an amount.
This amount will serve as a daily cap. Every day, the line item will stop serving ads and switch to Budget Hit status when this amount is reached. The line item will automatically reactivate at the start of the next day (if there are funds available).

  • Automate:
Enter a line item end date and a total budget or a monthly pace to be able to activate the Automated option. The Automated option will adjust the daily pace at the beginning of each day based on the line item end date and remaining budget.

This option is helpful if the line item does not reach its daily spend, but you want to ensure it can still spend the full budget.

Editing a monthly pace

Click the edit icon next to the line item monthly pace or in Step 1 of the line item workflow to edit the pacing of your budget delivery.

Click the “amount” line and enter a new amount. Click
Continue or Save before exiting.

This amount will serve as a monthly cap. During the month the line item will stop serving ads and switch to a
Budget Hit status when this amount is reached. The line item will automatically reactivate at the start of the next month (if there are funds available for it to spend).
