What Are Custom Reports?
Custom Reports allow to generate complex or large reports without waiting for them to load immediately. Instead of processing the report within your browser session, the platform generates it as a background job.
These reports give complete control over how the data is structured and delivered. Unlike standard reports, it lets you build your own dataset by choosing exactly which metrics, dimensions, and filters you want to include. This means every report can be tailored to your specific goals - whether you're analyzing performance, comparing trends, or pulling detailed breakdowns.
This flexibility makes Custom Reports a fully customizable, user‑driven reporting experience and ensures:
More reliable reporting for all users.
Reduced timeouts and loading delays.
Smooth performance, even for large datasets.

How To Generate a Custom Report
Navigate to the Analytics tab under the Demand side of your dashboard and click on Custom Reports.
Click on +New Report.
Select the dimensions, metrics, filters, and date range.
Click Submit.
Your report will begin processing in the background. Once submitted, your report will display one of the following statuses:
Scheduled: Waiting to begin processing at the scheduled time
Building: Currently being generated
Ready: Ready to view or download
Failed: Unable to generate (if applicable)
Expired: Report download file has passed the 7-day retention period.
Custom Report FAQs
How can custom reports make reporting easier?
Custom Reports lets you create exports around the dimensions and metrics that matter most to your business. You can tailor the columns, time period, and filters to match your reporting needs, then download a clearly organized file for analysis, business reviews, or client conversations.
How will I know when my report is ready?
The Reports Library checks report status automatically every 10 seconds while the browser tab is active. Status values include Scheduled, Building, Ready, Expired, or Failed.
Why did my report fail?
Reports may fail if:
The dataset is too large.
A selected field is invalid.
There’s a temporary system issue.
Try reducing the date range or filters, then resubmit. If it still fails, please contact our customer support team.
Can I leave the page while the report is generating?
Yes. Reports continue to process even if you move to another section, close your browser, or log out.
Can I download my report in different formats?
Yes, reports can be downloaded as Excel (.xlsx) or CSV, and this can only be selected when the report is being built, not after it's generated.
Do I need to regenerate the same report later?
Custom reports get deleted after 7 days. Within that period, you can regenerate the report if the underlying data has changed. Otherwise, you can reuse the same download.
What does the Month time dimension do?
Month groups report rows at monthly granularity, making it easier to analyze trends without manually aggregating daily exports. Select Month in the Time dimension group; you can also save and reload it when you edit the report.
Can I control the order of columns in the downloaded report?
Yes. Drag selected dimensions and metrics into the order you need. The chosen order is saved with the report and preserved in the downloaded file. When you move a dimension, its selected filters move with it.
How are downloaded report filenames generated?
Reports Library downloads retain the generated filename base and append a sanitized version of the saved report name. Spaces and unsafe filename characters are replaced with underscores, repeated underscores are collapsed, and the appended name is trimmed and length-limited. Save the report with a descriptive name before downloading.
